Our Suspension services include:
Air suspension is used in place of conventional steel springs in heavy vehicle applications such as buses and trucks. It is broadly used on semi-trailers. The purpose of air suspension is to provide a smooth, constant ride quality. Modern electronically controlled systems almost always feature self-leveling along with raising and lowering functions. Although traditionally called air bags or air bellows, the correct term is air spring (although these terms are also used to describe just the rubber bellows element with its end plates). Trust the experts at Action Auto Services, Inc. when your truck's air bag suspension needs service, repair, or replacement. Call us at 224-801-6094 to schedule an appointment.
Suspension equalizers are an effective aftermarket innovation for rear leaf suspensions. The equalizers are designed to aid in the carrying ability of your truck. Equalizers have the following advantages: fuel economy, increased safety, increased power, reduced tire wear, improved steering, and improved braking.
Most equalizer kits include U-bolts, Equalizer Bars, Shackle Plates, Greasable Bolts, Rollers, Spring Washers, Washers, U-bolt Plates, and Nylon Locking Nuts. For all your suspension equalizer needs, visit or call Action Auto Services, Inc. in Palatine, IL 60074 today.
Hangers are an effective way to enhance your truck's driving stability, handling, and suspension response. Hangers lower your truck's center of gravity, protecting it from rollovers in turns and corners and help you modify your truck's ground clearance. Whether you want to lower or raise your truck using hangers, call 224-801-6094 or visit Action Auto Services, Inc. today.
Shock absorbers are mechanical devices designed to smooth out shock impulses, thus reducing the effects of traveling over rough roads. Shocks convert kinetic energy that is formed when a vehicle travels over rough ground into another form of energy.
With shocks, you will be able to take your truck to places you never thought possible. Shocks work together with springs (they damp spring oscillations) to give your truck the best overall performance and the ability to carry the maximum load. For all your shock servicing, shock repairs and shock replacement needs, call or visit Action Auto Services, Inc. today.
Torque Arms & Walking Beams
A torque arm is a metal arm attached between a drive axle and the vehicle's frame. Torque arms prevent axle rotation in hub motors. It prevents the wheels from trying to rotate the axle relative to the vehicle's frame under acceleration (or in the opposite direction during braking).
A walking beam is an oscillating lever that pivots on a central axis and uses internal cam technology to transmit linear stroke in two directions (produces a reciprocating or reversible motion).

I had an appointment at another shop that was a installer for tires that I had purchased at Tire Rack (Pep Boys Palatine). When I got there at my scheduled appointment time they told me it would be at least a two hour wait before they got to my car. I asked what was the purpose of making an appointment then? I then asked how much additional fees would be for installing my tires as their fee was advertised as $78. I realized that my car had tire pressure sensors and it was a good idea to replace them while the tires were off the rims. I had priced what Tire pressure sensors for my car would cost before I got to their shop. The price varied from different sources but the range was from $30 to $80 each. I figured on the high end as I was a new customer to them. So in my mind $80 X 4 = $320 + $78 install = $398 + tax $40 Total around $438. They said $548!!! I said what is the extra $110 for. Pep Boys says to program the sensors. At this point I was furious, so I said forget it I'll take my tires somewhere else. I went down the street to Action Auto where the owner Ira, listened to my story and took my car in without an appointment. They then removed my tires and tire pressure sensors and mounted my new tires with new tire pressure sensors, balanced the tires and reprogrammed the tire sensors to be compatible with my cars system. They even checked and doubled checked that all four tire sensors were showing the correct tire pressures. The cost for all these services with tax out the door $318. $318 vs. Pep Boys $548 not to mention them telling me I would have to wait at least two hours before they could get to my scheduled appointment, I guess I made the right decision plus I saved $230! Thanks Ira, Jose and Mike!!!!!!!
